
Pressing flowers is a great way of preserving the beautiful plants and an activity that I cherish. Preserving and drying flowers is a craft honed over the ages.
Once a flower is pressed, It can be used artistically in a number of ways, from craft to making coasters. Make sure your glue dries out clear before you frame it.

- Use Books to Press Flowers
Collect your favourite flowers from your garden. You can press flowers in a book, and leave it for one week. As the flower is pressed, it will dry out, causing moisture to be absorbed. You can use dense books on the top of the book to press your flowers. Once they look ready, you can arrange them on the cardboard .You can use elmers white glue to stick the flowers before they are to be framed.






- DIY pressed flower art in just minutes using a microwave
Although pressing flowers using a book method may take days. Pressing flowers using microwave can be done in a matter of minutes. Collect your flowers and place them between the papers or paper towel. You might consider wrapping the flower in tissue paper before putting it between parchment. Then place this between two ceramic plates. Finally, you should microwave this pressed flower for 30 seconds to complete your project.
- DIY Air-drying flowers
Pressing flowers is a very simple process that can creatively empower you. Tie each flower bunch using a rubber band and hang them up side down using a hook or a nail in a warm, dark and dry location. Wait for 3-4 weeks to completely dry.
Air circulation helps the flowers dry and prevents mold. Keeping them away from sun preserves it’s colour.





4. Herbarium Bottle preserve

You can preserve leaves and flowers using a bottle or jar with Baby oil.


5. DIY pressed flowers to make coasters
You can arrange the flowers between the acrylic sheets. Stick the flowers using Elmers white glue. Finally, press the acrylic sheets together and tape the sides of the sheets.
